A Word from the Program Director

The Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) previously offered four categorical General Surgery positions each academic year; however, the program has been recently approved to offer five positions beginning 2009-2010. All are selected through the Electronic Residency Application Service for positions beginning in July, 2010.

Individuals considering a position in the General Surgery residency program at UMKC and its affiliated hospitals will find basic information on the following pages useful in assessing our program. Those seriously interested in more information are encouraged to visit in person.
